85% of Australians believe it is important to know about the histories of our First Peoples, but only 42% believe they have a high level of knowledge of that history.

Common Ground are an Aboriginal-led organisation, and work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia to capture and share stories, and create learning material for wider Australia. We pay Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributors to share their lived experience, and write or produce material for Common Ground.

They record and share First Nations cultures, histories and lived experiences. To help Australians see the value of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through providing access to stories and knowledge that will help bridge gaps in knowledge. Common Ground is designed to build a foundational level of knowledge for all Australians, and be a go to resource for those wanting to learn more and connect with our First Peoples.

They share knowledge and stories that reflect the diversity and strength of First Australian peoples. And create educational content that enables people to learn and connect with First Nations people.

They acknowledge that learning online is just one part of the journey and that building relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community is key to fostering deeper understanding, appreciation and genuine, respectful relationships
